Image chroma noise reduction in the bayer domain

An apparatus, comprising:

• a first processing stage configured to reduce noise in first data that describes a first pixel of an image relative to a single color;
• and
• a second processing stage configured to generate second data that describes the pixel relative to at least one color other than the single color after the first processing stage reduces the noise in the first data.

An integrated circuit, comprising:

• a first processing stage configured to reduce noise in first data that describes a first pixel of an image relative to a single color;
• and
• a second processing stage configured to generate second data that describes the pixel relative to at least one color other than the single color after the first processing stage reduces the noise in the first data.

A method, comprising:

• filtering noise from first data that describes a first pixel of an image relative to one and only one color;
• and
• generating from the filtered first data second data that describes a second pixel of the image relative to the color.

An apparatus, comprising:

• a first processing stage configured to filter noise from a first signal that describes a first pixel of an image relative to a single color;
• and
• a second processing stage configured to generate a second signal that describes the pixel relative to at least one color other than the single color after the first processing stage filters the noise from the first signal.
