Abstract
A method includes displaying information associated with a first application on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device. A gesture is detected on the touch-sensitive display, which gesture indicates a request to display information associated with a second application. At least part of the information associated with the second application is displayed without opening the second application.
Claims32
A method comprising:
- displaying information associated with a first application on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device;
- detecting a gesture on the touch-sensitive display, which gesture indicates a request to display information associated with a second application, wherein the first application is different from the second application;
- displaying at least part of the information associated with the second application by gradually adding the at least part of the information associated with the second application onto the touch-sensitive display.
A method comprising:
- displaying information associated with a first application on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device;
- detecting a gesture on the touch-sensitive display, which gesture indicates a request to preview information associated with a second application;
- without opening the second application, displaying the information associated with the second application by shifting the information associated with the second application onto or off the touch-sensitive display, wherein the shifting occurs in accordance with movement of the gesture.
A method comprising:
- displaying information associated with a first application on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device;
- detecting a gesture on the touch-sensitive display, which gesture indicates a request to display information associated with a second application;
- displaying at least part of the information associated with the second application without opening the second application by shifting the at least part of the information associated with the second application across the touch-sensitive display, wherein the shifting occurs along with movement of the gesture;
- detecting an indication to open the second application, wherein the indication comprises a characteristic of the gesture;
- opening the second application in response to detecting the indication.
A method comprising:
- displaying information associated with a first application on a touch-sensitive display of an electronic device;
- upon detecting a gesture on the touch-sensitive display, scrolling information associated with a second application at least partially onto the touch-sensitive display while displaying a reduced amount of information associated with the first application on the touch-sensitive display, wherein the first application and the second application are different.
