A tremolo device for static retention of a plurality of musical instrument strings in a stringed musical instrument comprising:
- a body having an upper surface;
- a neck portion;
- a plurality of strings each anchored at a first end of the neck and extending over at least a portion and secured to the tremolo device at the other end of the neck portion and the body, the tremolo device further comprising:
- an inertia block mechanism comprised of a substantially solid construction and disposed to receive and securely retain a plurality of raw instrument strings without removal of a ball end from each individual of the strings, wherein the inertia block mechanism comprises:
- an upper inertia block portion and a lower inertia block portion;
- a plurality of internal, longitudinally displaced, cylindrically shaped, string retaining chambers designed to pass through an entirety of the block mechanism, the plurality of longitudinally displaced cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers further comprising:
- an upper portion and a lower portion corresponding with the upper block portion and the lower block portion;
- a substantially smaller diameter in the upper portion than the lower portion;
- and
- a plurality of locking mechanisms wherein said plurality of cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers are disposed to receive said plurality of corresponding locking mechanisms and the plurality of corresponding locking mechanisms are disposed to increase upwardly along the length of said cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers and contact and securely retain said ball end of the strings against said upper portion of internal longitudinally displaced cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers, and disposed to securely retain said ball end of said strings to the plurality of internal, longitudinally displaced, cylindrically shaped, string retaining chambers;
- a base plate in communication with said block mechanism, said base plate comprising a leading edge, a trailing edge and planar top and planar bottom surfaces, wherein said planar bottom surface extends from the leading edge to said trailing edge in surface to surface abutment with the upper surface of the body of said stringed musical instrument and in communication with the upper portion of said block mechanism;
- a saddle assembly mounted to said base plate comprising a plurality of saddle blocks each having a planar bottom face and wherein each individual of said saddle blocks is disposed to align with each individual of said plurality of cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers;
- a plurality of intonation screws disposed to hold said saddle blocks on said saddle and said base plate;
- and,
- wherein upon installation of a musical string, said retaining mechanism securely retains a ball end of said musical string within the upper portion of internal longitudinally displaced cylindrically shaped string retaining chambers.
