Abstract
In one embodiment, a geo-social networking system records location data of a user, generate a set of recommendations based on the user's location data, and present one or more recommendations of the set of recommendations to the user based on the user's current location.

A method, comprising
- accessing, at a computer system, a data store for location data of a first user;
- accessing one or more data stores for one or more places in proximity to the first user's location data;
- generating a set of recommendations based on the one or more places in proximity to the first user's location data;
- and
- presenting one or more recommendations of the set of recommendations to the first user.
