Abstract
The instant invention provides soluble fusion protein complexes and IL-15 variants that have therapeutic and diagnostic use, and methods for making the such proteins. The instant invention additionally provides methods of stimulating or suppressing immune responses in a mammal using the fusion protein complexes and IL-15 variants of the invention.
Claims16
1-9. (canceled)
An isolated nucleic acid sequence encoding an IL-15 variant comprising an amino acid sequence that is different from the amino acid sequence than native IL-15 polypeptide, wherein the IL-15 variant has increased or decreased binding activity for the IL-15RβγC receptors compared to the native IL-15 polypeptide.
A DNA vector comprising the nucleic acid sequence of any one of claims 10 and 17-24.
A method of stimulating immune responses in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of the IL-15 variant comprising an amino acid sequence that is different from the amino acid sequence than native IL-15 polypeptide, wherein the IL-15 variant has increased or decreased binding activity for the IL-15RβγC receptors compared to the native IL-15 polypeptide.
A method of suppressing immune responses in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of the IL-15 variant comprising an amino acid sequence that is different from the amino acid sequence than native IL-15 polypeptide, wherein the IL-15 variant has increased or decreased binding activity for the IL-15RβγC receptors compared to the native IL-15 polypeptide.
