Abstract
The present invention is directed to methods comprising adding NH3 to a SO2F2 solution to directly form a FSO2NH2 and/or a salt of [FSO2NH]−, optionally quenching any unreacted NH3 present in the resulting mixture, and isolating the product from the resulting mixture.
Claims15
A method comprising:
- adding NH3 to a SO2F2 solution to form FSO2NH2 or a salt thereof, wherein the SO2F2 solution is maintained at a temperature of −30° C. or less during the adding, and wherein the SO2F2 solution does not include an organic base;
- optionally quenching any unreacted NH3 present in the resulting mixture;
- and
- isolating the FSO2NH2 or the salt thereof from the resulting mixture.

A product formed by the process of claim 14.
A method comprising:
- adding NH3 to a SO2F2 solution to form FSO2NH2, wherein the SO2F2 solution contains an organic base with pKb greater than NH3, wherein said solution is agitated at a temperature of −30° C. or less during the adding;
- optionally acidifying and filtering the resulting mixture;
- and
- distilling the FSO2NH2 from the resulting mixture.
