Abstract
The present invention is Micro-erosion Recovery System for separating recyclable tire materials (rubber, steel and fiber) and complying with quality standards governing the use of recovered tire materials. It is also a highly efficient apparatus and system for producing large amounts of high quality crumb rubber and steel. The system is controlled by selecting a micro erosion water jet nozzle with a specific cross-sectional area of the inlet and continually taking measurements of the inlet pressure until ideal mesh size of crumb rubber is met. Using the inlet pressure and cross-sectional area of the inlet, the remaining variables are able to be calculated by using an equation known in the art.
Claims20
A micro-erosion tire recycling apparatus comprised of:
- a spray booth sensor;
- a tire location sensor;
- a tire tread thickness sensor;
- a tire speed sensor;
- a plurality of water jets, wherein said water jets have an inlet having a cross sectional area and an outlet having a cross sectional area;
- an I/O Processor, wherein said I/O Processor controls an inlet pressure P1, and the volumetric flow rate as it flows through a micro-erosion water jet nozzle.
A MERS system comprised of:
- a plurality of water jet nozzles having a sensor;
- point P1 at which inlet pressure is measured;
- point P2 at which outlet pressure is measured;
- a processor which receives data from said sensor which is used calculate the optimum water pressure at point P1 and updates P2, A1, A2, V1, V2, and Q to control volumetric flow rate;
- and
- an output of crumb rubber particles, wherein said crumb rubber particles have a mesh size that is variable base on the optimum water pressure value.
