Unique process for printing multiple color indicia upon web substrates

A process for printing a web substrate in contacting engagement with an external surface of a central roll of a contact printing system, the process comprising the steps of:

• providing said central roll with a plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof;
• providing a first fluid to a first plurality of said discrete cells from a position internal to said central roll;
• providing a second and third fluid to a second plurality of said discrete cells from a position internal to said central roll;
• and,
• fluidically displacing said first, second, and third fluids from said first and second plurality of discrete cells onto said web substrate.

A process for printing a web substrate, the process comprising the steps of:

• providing a gravure printing system;
• providing said gravure printing system with a central roll;
• providing said central roll with a plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof, a first of said plurality of cells being disposed adjacent a second of said plurality of cells upon said outer surface;
• fluidically displacing a first fluid from a first position internal to said central roll to said first of said plurality of cells;
• fluidically displacing a second fluid from a second position internal to said central roll to said second of said plurality of cells, said first fluid being different from said second fluid;
• and,
• fluidically displacing said first and second fluids from said first and said second plurality of cells onto said web substrate.
