Abstract
Analytes in a sample are resolved by retentate chromatography in a procedure involving adsorbing the analytes on a substrate under a plurality of different selectivity conditions, and detecting the analytes retained on the substrate by desorption spectrometry. The methods are useful in biology and medicine, including clinical diagnostics and drug discovery.
Claims2
A method of diagnosing in a subject a disease characterized by a diagnostic marker, said method comprising:
- (a) providing a substrate for use in desorption spectrometry that comprises an addressable location comprising an adsorbent that resolves said diagnostic marker under an elution condition;
- (b) exposing said substrate to a biological sample from said subject under said elution condition to cause retention of said diagnostic marker;
- and
- (c) detecting said diagnostic marker so retained by desorption spectrometry, as a diagnosis of said disease.
