Abstract
The present invention relates generally to a chromogenic compositions and reagents systems and methods therefor.
Claims11
A chromogenic reagent system comprising a first solution comprising a nitrite, a second solution comprising an aryl amine, a third solution comprising an acid and a fourth solution comprising a naphthol phosphate.
A method of preparing a chromogen composition, the method comprising
- combining a first solution comprising a nitrite and a second solution comprising an aryl amine;
- to which is added a third solution comprising an acid to produce a diazonium compound;
- combining said diazonium compound with a fourth solution comprising a naphthol phosphate.
A reagent system comprising a first solution comprising nitrite, a second solution comprising 3-amino-4-methoxybenzamide in an acidic solution and a third solution comprising a naphthol phosphate.
A method of staining a biological specimen, comprising:
- (i) combining a first solution comprising a nitrite and a second solution comprising an aryl amine;
- to which is added a third solution comprising an acid to produce a diazonium compound;
- combining said diazonium compound with a fourth solution comprising a naphthol phosphate to produce a chromogen composition;
- and
- (ii) applying said chromogen composition to said biological specimen.
