## Abstract

The present invention provides a process for the manufacture of a formulated oxygenate conversion catalyst, the process comprising: —treating with a phosphorus containing compound a first molecular sieve comprising aluminosilicate and a second molecular sieve, different from the first molecular sieve, the second molecular sieve having more-dimensional channels; and—combining the first molecular sieve, the second molecular sieve and a matrix material; wherein the catalyst is not treated with a phosphorus containing compound after combination of the molecular sieves with the matrix material. In a further aspect the invention provides a formulated oxygenate conversion catalyst and a process for the preparation of an olefinic product.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A process for the manufacture of a formulated oxygenate conversion catalyst, the process comprising:
treating with a phosphorus containing compound a first molecular sieve comprising aluminosilicate and a second molecular sieve, different from the first molecular sieve, the second molecular sieve having more-dimensional channels; and
combining the first molecular sieve, the second molecular sieve and a matrix material;
wherein the catalyst is not treated with a phosphorus containing compound after combination of the molecular sieves with the matrix material.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the phosphorus-containing compound is impregnated into the first molecular sieve and second molecular sieve.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the phosphorus-containing compound comprises at least one of PO43−, P—(OCH3)3 and P2O5.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the phosphorus-containing compound comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of ammonium phosphate, ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, dimethylphosphate, metaphosphoric acid and trimethyl phosphite.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the second molecular sieve is an aluminosilicate.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the channels of the second molecular sieve are in at least one direction 10-membered ring channels.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

A process according to claim 5, wherein the second molecular sieve comprises MFI-type aluminosilicate and/or MEL-type aluminosilicate.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A process according to claim 1, wherein the first molecular sieve has one-dimensional 10-membered ring channels.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

A formulated oxygenate conversion catalyst obtainable by a process according to claim 1, comprising:
a first molecular sieve comprising aluminosilicate;
a second molecular sieve, different from the first molecular sieve, the second molecular sieve having more-dimensional channels;
a matrix material; and
wherein the formulated oxygenate conversion catalyst comprises a phosphorus or a phosphorus containing compound.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

A catalyst according to claim 9, wherein the phosphorus is present as such or in a compound in an elemental amount of 0.05-10 wt % of the formulated catalyst.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

A catalyst according to claim 9, wherein an external surface area of the formulated catalyst material is 1-500 m2/g.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)

A catalyst according to claim 9, comprising catalyst particles, wherein individual catalyst particles comprise both the first molecular sieve and the second molecular sieve.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

A process for the preparation of an olefinic product in the presence of a catalyst as claimed in claim 1, the process comprising reacting an oxygenate feedstock in the presence of the catalyst to produce the olefinic product.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

A process according to claim 13, wherein the oxygenate feedstock is reacted to produce the olefinic product in the presence of an olefinic co-feed.
