## Abstract

This invention in one embodiment comprises a cylindrical rod with a rotating, removable loop head inserted into the center of the top end of the rod. The loop head is inserted into a vertical hole drilled into the top end of the rod, wherein the loop head is able to rotate in the hole. The loop head has a plurality of outwardly radially extending circumferential loops that receive wire for bending and weaving into the Viking Knit. Preferably, the rod also has an anchor hole, drilled diagonally through the rod near its top end, for receiving and securing a wire. Preferably, the rod also has a conical wire wrap attachment at the bottom of the rod for making wired end caps to cover or enclose the finished Viking Knit Weave. In another embodiment, this invention comprises a hollow cone with a rotating, removable loop head inserted in either or both ends of the cone.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A hand tool for making a Viking Knit woven wire tube, the woven wire tube having an inside diameter, the hand tool comprising:
an elongate surface adapted to be surrounded by the woven wire tube, the elongate surface shaping the woven wire tube by contact with said inside diameter;
a body defined by the elongate surface, the body having a hole at one end to receive a shaft for a head with a plurality of loops, the head being adapted to rotate in, and be removed from, the hole on an axis parallel to the axis of the body;
the loops extending radially and circumferentially outward from the head, and being adapted to receive wire within the loops for bending and weaving into the woven wire tube.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, wherein the body is cylindrical.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, wherein the body is hexagonal.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, further comprising a second head, wherein said head and said second head are adapted to be positioned on opposite ends of the body.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, further comprising an anchor hole extending transversely into the body for receiving an end of a wire.

### Claim 12 (depends on 5)

A hand tool as in claim 5, further comprising a series of anchor holes along the length of the conical body.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, wherein the body has a conical wire wrap attachment at the other end of the body, and wherein the conical wire wrap attachment comprises an insert hole for receiving an end of a wire.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, wherein said body is an elongated rod comprising multiple flat sides and an anchor hole hear the head and extending transversely into the body, wherein the hand tool further comprises a conical wire wrap attachment having an insert hole for receiving an end of a wire, and wherein said head and said conical wire wrap attachment are positioned at opposite ends of the body.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

A hand tool as in claim 14, wherein said body further comprises a recess in the elongate surface of the rod for indicating, during weaving, length of a first row of woven-wire-loops and for providing allowing additional room for wire to slide under earlier stitches of wire.

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

A hand tool as in claim 1, wherein said body is conical and comprises multiple flat sides and multiple anchor holes along the length of the conical body, wherein the hand tool further comprises a second head with a plurality of loops extending radially and circumferentially outward from the second head for receiving wire within the loops for bending and weaving into a woven wire tube connected to said second head, wherein said head and said second head are positioned at opposite ends of the body.
