Data processing apparatus capable of communicating with external device via a plurality of logical line, data processing system, data processing device storing data processing program, and device driver

A data processing system comprising a data processing apparatus and an information processing apparatus communicable via at least two logical lines,

• the information processing apparatus including:
• a first communication unit configured to be communicable via the logical lines including a first logical line and a second logical line, the second logical line having priority higher than the first logical line;
• an assigning unit configured to assign one of first priority and second priority that is higher than the first priority to data that is to be processed by the data processing apparatus;
• and
• a transmission control unit configured to transmit data having the first priority to the first communication unit via the first logical line and transmit data having the second priority to the first communication unit via the second logical line, and
• the data processing apparatus including:
• a data processing unit configured to process data;
• a second communication unit configured to be communicable via the at least two logical lines;
• a storage unit including a first buffer area and a second buffer area, the first buffer area for storing the data having the first priority that is received from the first communication unit by the second communication unit via the first logical line, and the second buffer area for storing the data having the second priority that is received from the first communication unit by the second communication unit via the second logical line;
• and
• a processing control unit configured to determine if the second buffer area stores data,
• according to a determination result that the second buffer area stores data, to read data from the second buffer area and control the data processing unit to process the data read from the second buffer area, and
• according to a determination result that the second buffer area stores no data, to determine if the first buffer area stores data.

A computer readable device storing data processing instructions to be executed by an information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus including a communication unit communicable with a data processing apparatus via at least two logical lines, the data processing instructions comprising at least a data processing program, wherein:

• the data processing program includes an application program and a device driver that controls the data processing apparatus;
• and
• the at least two logical lines include a first logical line having first priority and a second logical line having second priority that is higher than the first priority,
• the application program, when executed by the information processing apparatus, causes the information processing apparatus to function as:
• an assigning module configured to assign one of the first priority and the second priority to data that is to be processed by the data processing apparatus;
• an output module configured to output to the device driver a processing command and one of the first priority and the second priority that is assigned by the assigning module, and
• the device driver, when executed by the information processing apparatus, causes the information processing apparatus to function as:
• a generation module configured to generate data based on the processing command output by the application program;
• and
• a transmission module configured to transmit the data generated by the generation module to the data processing apparatus via the first logical line according to the output of the first priority by the output module and via the second logical line according to the output of the second priority by the output module.

A computer readable device storing data processing instructions to be executed by an information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus including a communication unit communicable with a data processing apparatus via at least two logical lines, the data processing instructions comprising at least a data processing program, wherein:

• the at least two logical lines include a first logical line having first priority and a second logical line having second priority that is higher than the first priority,
• the data processing program, when executed by the information processing apparatus, causes the information processing apparatus to function as:
• an assigning module configured to assign one of the first priority and the second priority to data that is to be processed by the data processing apparatus;
• a generation module configured to generate data based on a processing command;
• and
• a transmission module configured to transmit the data generated by the generation module to the data processing apparatus via the first logical line according to the first priority that is assigned by the assigning module and via the second logical line according to the second priority that is assigned by the assigning module.
