Mass Configuring Technical Systems

A computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium and comprising instructions that when executed by a processor perform a method for mass configuring technical systems, the method comprising:

• receiving a call that is associated with a configuration manager and generated from a first of multiple systems each having at least one instance of the configuration manager, each system including multiple technical systems configured using a corresponding instance of the configuration manager;
• retrieving, from the corresponding instance and in response to the call, identifiers for at least a subset of the technical systems in the first system;
• retrieving, from the corresponding instance and from the subset of the technical systems, configurations for the subset of the technical systems;
• and
• forwarding an execute configuration communication to the corresponding instance including at least one parameter that has been changed from the retrieved configurations.

A system comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a computer readable medium including instructions that when executed by the processor generate a service comprising:
• receiving a call that is associated with a configuration manager and generated from a first of multiple systems each having at least one instance of the configuration manager, each system including multiple technical systems configured using a corresponding instance of the configuration manager;
• retrieving, from the corresponding instance and in response to the call, identifiers for at least a subset of the technical systems in the first system;
• retrieving, from the corresponding instance and from the subset of the technical systems, configurations for the subset of the technical systems;
• and
• forwarding an execute configuration communication to the corresponding instance including at least one parameter that has been changed from the retrieved configurations.
