System and Markup Language For Information Extraction From Stand-Alone Devices in Webspace

A first device for communicating information via a computer network, the first device comprising:

• a first mini-server computer associated with a first Internet Protocol (IP) address, the first mini-server computer encoded with instructions that allow information relating to the first device to be made accessible via the computer network at the first IP address,
• the first device configured to access information that relates to a second device via the computer network from a second IP address, the second IP address associated with a second mini-server computer included with the second device, the second mini-server computer encoded with instructions that allow information relating to the second device to be made accessible via the computer network at the second IP address.

A method for communicating information between a computer network and at least one device, the method comprising:

• using a first device including a first mini-server computer associated with a first Internet Protocol (IP) address to access information relating to a second device via the computer network from a second IP address associated with a second mini-server included with the second device,
• wherein the first mini-server computer is encoded with instructions that allow information relating to the first device to be made accessible via the computer network at the first IP address, and
• wherein the second mini-server computer is encoded with instructions that allow information relating to the second device to be made accessible via the computer network at the second IP address.
