Smart Super-Distribution of Rights-Protected Digital Content

A method embodied on a computer-readable medium within a wireless communication terminal, the method comprising program instructions for:

• transmitting to a service provider platform a content information request to download a protected content and a format capability, the content information request containing a terminal type identifier for the wireless communication terminal, the content information request being transmitted in response to receiving a content offer including a content identifier of the protected content, the protected content being present on another wireless communication terminal;
• and
• receiving from the service provider platform a content object in a selected format type and a rights object for enabling decryption of the content object, the rights object being unable to be forwarded from the wireless communication terminal, the receiving of the rights object being subject to accepting a notification of a cost amount received from the storage provider platform.
