Abstract
Data-driven item value determinations for a user-interested topic are automatically generated and made available to a user for rendering effective, efficient decisional choices on one or more aspects of the user-interested topic. Information on components of the user-interested topic relevant to a user's decisional choices are mined from the internet and collated to generate values that identify optimum user choices. User input is utilized to tailor generated value determinations for specific user preferences, issues and/or concerns. Data-driven item value determinations can be generated for a host of user-interested topics including, but not limited to, eating establishment nutritional choices and shopping mall criteria.
Claims20
A method for generating and outputting to a user deterministic data for a user-interested topic, the method comprising:
- parsing the user-interested topic into a set of at least one component;
- accessing the internet to identify information for the set of components;
- parsing the identified information for the set of components into a set of at least one subcomponent;
- accessing the internet to identify information on at least one subcomponent of the set of subcomponents;
- referencing a database comprising user-interested topic details wherein the user-interested topic details comprise data for use in generating at least one item value for a subcomponent wherein each item value comprises a value that is descriptive of a subcomponent;
- collating at least one user-interested topic detail with each of at least two subcomponents to generate an item value for each of the at least two subcomponents;
- utilizing the item value for a first subcomponent to produce a first set of deterministic data that is used to generate an output to the user for the first subcomponent wherein the first set of deterministic data comprises an indication that the user may consider choosing the first subcomponent;
- and
- utilizing the item value for a second subcomponent to produce a second set of deterministic data that is used to generate an output to the user for the second subcomponent wherein the second set of deterministic data comprises an indication that the user may not wish to consider choosing the second subcomponent.
A method for generating and outputting to a user deterministic data for a user to make nutrition decisions for a set of eating establishments comprising at least one eating establishment, the method comprising:
- gathering menus for the set of eating establishments;
- parsing the gathered menus into a set of dishes comprising two or more menu dishes;
- gathering at least one recipe for each menu dish of the set of dishes;
- parsing each gathered recipe into a set of recipe ingredients;
- identifying the quantity of each recipe ingredient in each set of recipe ingredients;
- referencing at least one database comprising a set of one or more nutritional characteristic values for a set of ingredients in one or more sets of recipe ingredients, wherein a first nutritional characteristic value for the set of ingredients is a calorie count value;
- generating a calorie count item value for two or more gathered recipes wherein a calorie count item value for a gathered recipe comprises the sum of the calorie count values for the quantity of each ingredient in the gathered recipe;
- and
- outputting an indication of the calorie count item value for at least one gathered recipe to the user.
A data-driven item value determinator application for assisting a user in making informed decisions, the data-driven item value determinator application comprising:
- an application component comprising the capability to parse a user-interested topic into a set of constituents comprising at least one constituent;
- an application component comprising the capability to access the internet to identify at least one element for each constituent of the set of constituents;
- an application component comprising the capability to parse each identified element into a set items comprising at least one item;
- an application component comprising the capability to reference a database comprising user-interested topic details wherein the user-interested topic details comprise data for use in generating at least one item value wherein an item value comprises a value for an item that is descriptive of the item for the user-interested topic;
- an application component comprising the capability to generate an item value for an item by utilizing at least one user-interested topic detail from the database;
- an application component comprising the capability to utilize at least one item value for a first item to generate a first item score;
- an application component comprising the capability to utilize at least one item value for a second item to generate a second item score;
- an application component comprising the capability to generate a display that identifies the first item score with respect to the second item score;
- and
- an application component comprising the capability to output the display to a user.
