Abstract
A laminar plate that reconstructs or supports the lamina of a vertebra after lamina bone has been removed during spinal surgery and prevents bone growth material from entering the spinal canal. The laminar plate spans a gap from the removed lamina bone and is coupled to, or proximate to, and between a facet and the spinous process by screwing the plate to the bone.
Claims20
A laminar plate for bracing a vertebra at a location where lamina bone has been removed by spinal surgery, said plate comprising a center plate portion, a first end portion at a first end of the center portion and a second end portion at a second end of the center portion, wherein at least one of the first end portion or the second end portion of the plate is angled other than 180° relative to the center plate portion, and wherein the first end portion is configured to be coupled to a spinous process of the vertebra or proximate thereto and the second end portion is configured to be coupled to a facet of the vertebra or proximate thereto.
A laminar plate for bracing a vertebra at a location where lamina bone has been removed by spinal surgery, said plate comprising a center plate portion, a first end portion at a first end of the center portion and a second end portion at a second end of the center portion, wherein the first end portion and the second end portion are angled other than 180° in the same direction relative to the center portion.
A laminar plate for bracing a vertebra at a location where lamina bone has been removed by spinal surgery, said laminar plate being configured to support bone growth material, said plate comprising a center plate portion, a first end portion at a first end of the center portion and a second end portion at a second end of the center portion, wherein at least one of the first end portion or the second end portion of the plate is angled other than 180° relative to the center plate portion, and wherein the laminar plate includes screw holes for attaching the laminar plate to bone with screws, and wherein the first end portion is configured to be coupled to a spinous process of the vertebra or proximate thereto and the second end portion is configured to be coupled to a facet of the vertebra or proximate thereto.
