A laryngoscope comprising a handle, a releasable blade, a blade holding element and releasable attachment means to attach the blade to the blade holding element;
- wherein the blade holding element is pivotally attached to the handle, so that the blade may be arranged in a first operative position and a second inoperative position and the attachment means is releasable when the blade is in the second inoperative position.
