Abstract
A method of controlling an electronic device includes detecting receipt of an input, determining a response number in response to receipt of the input, and actuating an actuator of the electronic device a discrete integer number of times based on the response number.

A method of controlling an electronic device, comprising:
- detecting receipt of an input;
- determining a response number in response to receipt of the input;
- and
- actuating an actuator at the electronic device a discrete integer number of times based on the response number.

- short range communications for communicating with a second electronic device;
- a first input device to receive a first input;
- an actuator to provide tactile output;

- a processor connected to the short range communications, the first input device, and the actuator, to send a first query to the second electronic device in response to receipt of the first input and actuate the actuator to output a response.

- establishing communications with the portable electronic device;
