Abstract
Methods and composition for biofuel processing are provided. For example, in certain aspects methods for using metal compounds to enhance cellulose enzymatic hydrolysis are described. Furthermore, the invention provides integrated processes with fewer lignin removal steps to improve efficiency.
Claims26
A cellulose hydrolyzing composition comprising:
- a) a material containing cellulose and lignin,;
- b) an aqueous solution comprising a divalent metal that increases enzymatic cellulose hydrolysis as compared to enzymatic cellulose hydrolysis in the absence of such a divalent metal;
- and
- c) a cellulase.
