Abstract
Disclosed is a polyester film having at least one surface coated with a poly(vinylidene chloride) layer and upon which an abrasion resistant hardcoat. Further disclosed is a laminated article comprising the hardcoated polyester film.
Claims24
A hardcoated polyester film, comprising a polyester film which has a surface coated with a layer of a poly(vinylidene chloride) composition, an organic colloid applied on the surface of the poly(vinylidene chloride) composition and an abrasion resistant hardcoat on the surface of the organic colloid.
A safety laminate comprising in sequence (a) a hardcoated poly(ethylene terephthalate) film comprising a polyester film which has a surface coated with a layer of a poly(vinylidene chloride) composition, an organic colloid applied on the surface of the poly(vinylidene chloride) composition and an abrasion resistant hardcoat on the surface of the organic colloid, (b) a polymeric interlayer sheet laminated on the other side of the of the first hardcoated poly(ethylene terephthalate) film, and (iii) a rigid sheet laminated to the polymeric interlayer sheet and opposite from the first hardcoated poly(ethylene terephthalate) film.
