Abstract
Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, machine, device, manufacture, circuit, composition of matter, and/or user interface adapted for and/or resulting from, and/or a method and/or machine-readable medium comprising machine-implementable instructions for, activities that can comprise and/or relate to, a composition comprising molecular matrix-residing chlorine dioxide and/or one or more hygroscopic and/or deliquescent salts.
Claims17
A composition comprising:
- chlorine dioxide/α-cyclodextrin complex;
- and
- one or more hygroscopic and/or deliquescent salts.
A device comprising:
- a container formed from a moisture permeable material and/or a heat sealable non woven permeable fabric having a pore size greater than 0.1 micron, the container substantially enclosing:
- a chlorine dioxide/α-cyclodextrin complex and one or more hygroscopic and/or deliquescent salt(s).
A method, comprising:
- delivering chlorine dioxide from a composition comprising a molecular matrix-residing chlorine dioxide to a headspace of a container holding a crop and/or human edible food, an amount of the chlorine dioxide delivered being sufficient to inhibit fungal and/or bacterial growth at an exterior surface of the crop and/or human edible food.
