Lens barrel

A lens barrel comprising:

• an optical system including an image blur correcting lens group having a first optical axis and a retractable lens group having a second optical axis;
• a drive unit configured to move the image blur correcting lens group in a direction perpendicular to the first optical axis;
• a drive mechanism configured to move the retractable lens group between an extended position and a retracted position, the second optical axis being aligned with the first optical axis in the extended position and disposed off center from the first optical axis by a predetermined distance in the retracted position;
• a light adjusting mechanism configured to adjust the amount of light that passes through the optical system;
• and
• an actuator configured to drive the light adjusting mechanism, the actuator being disposed on one side of the light adjusting mechanism and along the direction of the first optical axis, the light adjusting mechanism being disposed between the actuator and the drive unit and along the direction of the first optical axis.
