Abstract
A method and apparatus for avoiding collisions is provided. The method may include determining a start of an awake window, determining whether at the start of the awake window a backoff timer has had a zero value for at least one backoff slot. Additionally, the method may include invoking a backoff procedure upon a determination that the backoff timer has had a zero value for at least one backoff slot.

A method of wireless communications by a first station, comprising:
- determining a start of an awake window;
- and
- determining whether at the start of the awake window a backoff timer has had a zero value for at least one backoff slot.
A computer program product, comprising:
- a computer-readable medium comprising code executable to:
- determine a start of an awake window;
- and
- determine whether at the start of the awake window a backoff timer has had a zero value for at least one backoff slot.

- means for determining a start of an awake window;
