Abstract
An image display apparatus includes a detection unit that detects a target object, and a display control unit that adjusts an image display method through which an image is displayed, so as to alter the image as visually perceived along a direction of visually perceived depth when the detection unit detects the target object.

An image display apparatus, comprising:
- a detection unit that detects a target object;
- and
- a display control unit that adjusts an image display method through which an image is displayed, so as to alter the image as visually perceived along a direction of visually perceived depth when the detection unit detects the target object.
An image display apparatus comprising:
- a detection unit that detects a target object;
- and
- a display control unit that displays an image with a three-dimensional effect when the detection unit detects the target object.
An image display apparatus comprising:
- a display unit at which at least two display images manifesting parallaxes different from one another are each displayed toward a corresponding viewpoint among viewpoints taken for the plurality of images;
- a detection unit that detects an object present in front of the display unit;
- a specific area determining unit that determines, based upon detection results provided by the detection unit, a specific area of a display screen at the display unit that is blocked by the object when observed by a viewer;
- and
- a display control unit that executes display control so as to display a portion of an image displayed at the display unit, which is contained in an area around the specific area having been determined, by adopting a display mode different from a display mode for a remaining area.
