Abstract
A system for enhancing a depth map associated with a 2D image wherein a face detector analyzes the 2D image to determine a position of a face in the 2D image, the system utilizes the position to derive a depth model; and the depth model is combined with the depth map to generate an enhanced depth map.

A system for enhancing a depth map associated with a 2D image wherein:
- a face detector configured to analyze said 2D image to determine a position of a face in said 2D image, wherein
- said system utilizes said position to derive a depth model;
- and
- said depth model is combined with said depth map to generate an enhanced depth map.
A method of creating an enhanced depth map including the steps of:
- receiving a 2D image and associated depth map;
- using a face detector to determine a position of a face in said 2D image;
- deriving a depth model based on said position;
- and
- combining said depth model with said depth map to create said enhanced depth map.
A method of creating an enhanced depth map including the steps of:
- receiving a 2D image;
- generating an original depth map associated with said 2D image;
- using a face detector to determine a position of a face in said 2D image;
- deriving a depth model based on said position;
- and
- combining said depth model with said original depth map to create said enhanced depth map.
A system for enhancing a depth map associated with a sequence of one or more 2D images comprising:
- an object detector analyses said 2D image to determine the position of said object;
- wherein said system utilizes said position to derive a depth model;
- and
- wherein said depth model is combined with said depth map to generate an enhanced depth map.
