Abstract
A method, computer readable medium and apparatus that can produce a depth image based on a first image of a scene from a first viewpoint and a second image of the scene from a second viewpoint. The first and second viewpoints are displaced along a first dimension. A third image and a fourth image are produced based on the depth image. The third and fourth images correspond to third and fourth viewpoints, respectively. The third and fourth viewpoints are displaced along a second dimension different from the first dimension.

A method of forming images, the method comprising:
- producing a depth image based on a first image of a scene from a first viewpoint and a second image of the scene from a second viewpoint, the first and second viewpoints being displaced along a first dimension;
- and
- producing, based on the depth image, a third image and a fourth image corresponding to third and fourth viewpoints, respectively, the third and fourth viewpoints being displaced along a second dimension different from the first dimension.
A computer readable storage medium having stored thereon instructions, which, when executed, perform a method of forming images, the method comprising:
- producing a depth image based on a first image of a scene from a first viewpoint and a second image of the scene from a second viewpoint, the first and second viewpoints being displaced along a first dimension;
- and
- producing a third image and a fourth image based on the depth image, the third and fourth images corresponding to third and fourth viewpoints displaced along a second dimension different from the first dimension.
An image processing system, comprising:
- a depth information calculating unit configured to produce a depth image based on a first image of a scene from a first viewpoint and a second image of the scene from a second viewpoint, the first and second viewpoints being displaced along a first dimension;
- and
- a parallax image generating unit configured to produce a third image and a fourth image based on the depth image, the third and fourth images corresponding to third and fourth viewpoints displaced along a second dimension different from the first dimension.
