Abstract
In various embodiments, an inductance of an inductor is tuned by adjusting a position of a conductor and/or a magnetic material with respect to a conducting wire of the inductor, thereby changing the electro-magnetic characteristics of the conducting wire. The conductor and/or magnetic material can be disposed in a microfluidic channel and can be moved within the microfluidic channel using a suitable actuator mechanism.
Claims28
A reconfigurable inductor, comprising:
- a conducting wire;
- a fluidic channel defining a path that overlies at least a portion of the conducting wire;
- a conductor disposed within the fluidic channel;
- and
- an actuating mechanism for displacing the conductor within the fluidic channel to thereby alter an inductance of the reconfigurable inductor.

A reconfigurable inductor, comprising:
- a fluidic channel containing a magnetic material therewithin;
- a conductive wire wound around at least a portion of the fluidic channel;
- and
- an actuating mechanism for displacing the magnetic material within the fluidic channel to thereby alter an inductance of the reconfigurable inductor.
