Conjugated polymers and their use as organic semiconductors

Conjugated polymer comprising one or more identical or different repeating units selected from the group consisting of the following formulae

• R1 on each occurrence identically or differently, denotes H, a straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group having 1 to 40 C atoms, which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more groups R, and in which one or more C atoms are optionally replaced by O, S, CO, CO—O, O—CO, O—CO—O, CR═CR or C≡C such that O- and/or S-atoms are not linked directly to each other, and preferably heteroatoms are not bonded directly to the phenanthrene unit in formula I, and in which one or more H atoms are optionally replaced by F, Cl, Br, I or CN, or R1 denotes an aryl or heteroaryl group having 2 to 40 C atoms that is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more groups R, or a combination of a plurality of these groups;
• and wherein two groups R1 may also form a further mono- or polycyclic, aliphatic group with one another,
• R2,3 independently of each other have one of the meanings given for R1,
• X, Y on each occurrence identically or differently, and independently of each other, denote CR═CR, C≡C, or a divalent aryl or heteroaryl group having 2 to 40 C atoms that is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more groups R1,
• R is on each occurrence, identically or differently, H, a straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 to 22 C atoms, in which one or more C atoms are optionally replaced by O, S, CO, CO—O, O—CO, O—CO—O, CR0═CR0, C≡C such that O- and/or S-atoms are not linked directly to each other, and in which one or more H atoms are optionally replaced by F, Cl, Br, I or CN, or R is an aryl, heteroaryl, aryloxy or heteroaryloxy group having 5 to 40 C atoms that is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more non-aromatic group R0;
• two or more of the groups R may also form a ring system with one another and/or with R0;
• or R is F, Cl, Br, I, CN, Sn(R0)3, Si(R0)3 or B(R0)2,
• R0 is on each occurrence, identically or differently, H or an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 C atoms;
• two groups R0 may also form a ring together with the hetero atom to which they are attached,
• a,b on each occurrence identically or differently, and independently of each other, denote 0, 1 or 2,
• characterized in that the polymer does not contain a diarylamine or triarylamine group.
