Abstract
Display packaging for plush toys or dolls that allows the packaged toy to be neatly displayed on a retail shelf in an upright, sitting position so that the toy's features can be readily seen is described. In particular, the display packaging facilitates, and encourages, a child accompanying an adult purchaser at a retail location to hug or cuddle the toy without the display packaging impeding that experience. The display packaging also uses much less packaging material than previous packaging for similar products.
Claims12
Display packaging for plush toys, comprising:
- a seat bottom that supports a bottom of a plush toy sitting thereon;
- two curved sides attached to opposing sides of said seat bottom which face each other and are positioned proximate to opposing sides of said plush toy so as to hold said plush toy in an upright seated position on said seat bottom;
- and
- a back support strip spaced between and connecting said curved side elements and contacting a lower back portion of said plush toy;
- whereby said seat bottom, said two curved sides, and said back support strip are configured such that when said plush toy is contained within said display packaging, a sufficiently small portion of said plush toy is contacted by said display packaging so as to allow appendages of the plush toy to move unencumbered by said display packaging.

A system, comprising:
- a plush toy product;
- and
- display packaging for holding and/or displaying the product in an upright and seated position;
- whereby said display packaging is configured about said plush toy product such that when said plush toy product is contained within said display packaging, a sufficiently small portion of said plush toy product is contacted by said display packaging so as to allow appendages of the plush toy product to move unencumbered by said display packaging.

- a plush toy;
- and
- display packaging for plush toys, comprising:
