Abstract
In an embodiment, a monolithic tile made for use in a composite armor is disclosed. The tile includes cut-out and/or through thickness channels spaced from each other at a distance greater than a dimension of the channels, in a plan view of the tile.

A tile for use in an armor, the tile comprising:
- a tile body including a plurality of channels extending through a thickness thereof and distributed so that, in a plan view of the tile, a maximal dimension of each of the plurality of channels is smaller than a distance between adjacent channels of the plurality of channels.
A tile for use in an armor, the tile comprising:
- a tile body including a plurality of channels extending through a thickness thereof and distributed so that, in a plan view of the tile, a maximal dimension of each of the plurality of channels is smaller than a distance between closest points of each pair of adjacent channels of the plurality of channels.
