Abstract
Provided is a laundry treating apparatus including a drum, a circular guide, and a panel. The drum holds laundry, has a front side and a rear side opened, and has a cross-section of a noncircular looped curve in which a distance from a rotation center is not uniform. The circular guide rotatably supports a portion of the drum in which a section curvature is uniform. The panel is provided on a front side or a rear side of the drum and supports the circular guide such that the circular guide is rotatable.
Claims22
A laundry treating apparatus comprising:
- a drum to hold laundry, the drum having a front side and a rear side, and the drum having a cross-section of a noncircular looped curve in which a distance from a rotational center of the drum to an inside surface of the drum is nonuniform, wherein the cross-section of the drum includes a first portion having a uniform curvature;
- a circular guide to support the first portion of the drum;
- and
- a panel provided at a front or a rear of the drum, the panel to support the circular guide such that the circular guide rotates with respect to the panel.
A laundry treating apparatus comprising:
- a front panel;
- a rear panel;
- a drum having an opened front side and an opened rear side, wherein an inside surface of the drum is noncircular such that a radius from a rotational center of the drum varies around the inside surface, wherein a distance from an upper end of the inside surface to a lower end of the inside surface is greater than a distance from a left side of the inside surface to a right side of the inside surface;
- a front circular guide supported by front panel, the front circular guide to support the inside surface of the drum and to rotate with the drum, the front circular guide to provide an outward force to the drum;
- and
- a rear circular guide supported by rear panel, the rear circular guide to support the inside surface of the drum and to rotate with the drum, the rear circular guide to provide an outward force to the drum.
