Abstract
A glue composition can include: one or more glue proteins selected to undergo a conformational change responsive to a pH change; and one or more pH components selected to change the pH of the one or more glue proteins in response to a change in one or more conditions. The glue can be prepared by: providing one or more glue proteins selected to undergo a conformational change in response to a pH change; and combining the glue proteins with one or more pH components selected to change the pH of the one or more glue proteins in response to a change in one or more conditions.
Claims32
A glue composition comprising:
- one or more glue proteins selected to undergo a conformational change responsive to a pH change;
- an aqueous medium;
- and
- one or more pH components selected to change the pH of the protein glue in response to a change in one or more conditions,
- wherein the glue composition is storage stable in a first condition prior to the change in one or more conditions.

A method of preparing glue, the method comprising:
- combining one or more glue proteins selected to undergo a conformational change in response to a pH change with an aqueous medium and one or more pH components selected to change the pH of the one or more glue proteins in response to a change in one or more conditions so as to form a glue composition that is storage stable in a first condition prior to the change in one or more conditions.

A method of gluing, the method comprising:
- providing a glue composition having:
- one or more glue proteins selected to undergo a conformational change in response to a pH change;
- an aqueous medium;
- and
- one or more pH components selected to change the pH of the one or more glue proteins in response to a change in one or more conditions,
- wherein the glue composition is storage stable in a first condition prior to the change in one or more conditions;
- applying the glue composition to one or more articles to be glued in the first condition;
- and
- inducing a change from the first condition to a second condition so that the pH of the one or more glue proteins changes the conformation of the one or more glue proteins so that the one or more glue proteins adhere to the one or more articles.
