Abstract
A vehicle front drive assembly includes an auxiliary drive assembly for a vehicle which is driven by an engine which is cooled by a fan. The auxiliary drive assembly includes an input pulley for receiving torque from the engine, a fan drive pulley, a belt engaging the input pulley and the drive pulley and an auxiliary drive housing. The housing supports the belt and has a first opening adapted to receive a torque transmitting member which transmits torque from the engine to the input pulley. The housing has a second opening which receives a fan drive shaft which transmits torque from the fan drive pulley to the fan.
Claims16
An auxiliary drive assembly for a front drive assembly for a vehicle driven by an engine which is cooled by a fan, comprising:
- an input pulley for receiving torque from the engine;
- a fan drive pulley;
- a belt engaging the input pulley and the fan drive pulley;
- an auxiliary drive housing supporting the belt, the housing having a first opening adapted to receive a torque transmitting member which transmits torque from the engine to the input pulley, and the housing having a second opening adapted to receive a fan drive shaft which transmits torque from the fan drive pulley to the fan.
An auxiliary drive assembly for a drive assembly for a vehicle driven by an engine, comprising:
- an auxiliary drive housing supporting a belt, the housing having a first opening adapted to receive a first torque transmitting member, and the housing having a second opening adapted to receive a second torque transmitting member;
- an input pulley for receiving torque from the engine via the first torque transmitting member, the input pulley engaging the belt;
- a drive pulley for receiving torque from the belt, the drive pulley transmitting toque to the second torque transmitting member, the second torque transmitting member driving a driven auxiliary unit.
