Abstract
A dental instrument for use in removing unremineralizable carious dentin from a tooth while generally maintaining remineralizable carious dentin. The instrument comprises an instrument body and an instrument head having scraping elements made of plastic. Also, a method of removing unremineralizable carious dentine from a tooth while generally maintaining remineralizable carious dentin, wherein the method comprises the use of the dental instrument.

Dental instrument for use in a procedure for removing unremineralizable carious dentin from a tooth while generally maintaining reminerizable carious dentin, the dental instrument comprising
- (a) scraping elements made of plastic;
- and
- (b) a handle portion which can be grasped by a user to scrape the scraping elements over a tooth surface.
