There is provided a method for determining whether a mammalian subject having an ovarian cancer belongs to a first or a second group, wherein the prognosis of subjects of the first group is better than the prognosis of subjects of the second group, comprising the steps of: a) evaluating an amount of RBM3 protein in at least part of a sample earlier obtained from the subject and determining a sample value corresponding to the evaluated amount; b) comparing said sample value with a predetermined refer-ence value; and if said sample value is higher than said ref-erence value, c1) concluding that the subject belongs to the first group; and if said sample value is lower than or equal to said reference value, c2) concluding that the sub-ject belongs to the second group. Related peptides, affinity ligands, uses and further methods are also provided.

A method for determining whether a mammalian subject having an ovarian cancer belongs to a first or a second group, wherein the prognosis of subjects of the first group is better than the prognosis of subjects of the second group, comprising the steps of:
A method for determining whether a subject having an ovarian cancer is not in need of a treatment with an ovarian cancer treatment regimen, comprising the steps of:
A non-treatment strategy method for a subject having an ovarian cancer, comprising:
A method for treating a subject having an ovarian cancer, comprising:
A RBM3 protein fragment which consists of 29 amino acids or less and comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:5, 8, 16 and 17.
A method of establishing a prognosis for ovarian cancer, comprising detecting a marker selected from the group consisting of an RBM3 protein and an RBM3 mRNA molecule.
A method of production, selection or purification of a prognostic agent for establishing a prognosis for a mammalian subject having an ovarian cancer, comprising using an RBM3 protein, or an antigenically active fragment thereof, as an antigen.
An affinity ligand capable of selective interaction with an RBM3 fragment which
