Abstract
An apparatus that supports a person in a variety of positions so that a tattoo artist can comfortably apply a tattoo to the skin of the supported person is herein disclosed. The apparatus can be articulated to cause a person's legs and arms to be optimally positioned and supported to receive a tattoo.
Claims32
An apparatus for supporting a person receiving a tattoo, comprising:
- a frame;
- a seat section coupled to the frame and having a front and back edge thereof;
- a hinge;
- and
- a back section having leg openings on the sides thereof such that a user can straddle the back section by placing legs through the leg openings, the back section coupled to the frame via the hinge, and wherein the hinge is further configured to rotate the back section about a first axis that is generally parallel to a back edge of the seat section.
An apparatus for supporting a person during tattooing, comprising:
- a first rotatable leg assembly, wherein the first rotatable leg assembly is configured to rotate a first leg section about a first axis and a second axis, wherein the first axis is generally parallel to a transverse plane of the apparatus, wherein the second axis is generally parallel to a midsagittal plane;
- and
- a second rotatable leg assembly, wherein the second rotatable leg assembly is configured to rotate a second leg section about a third axis and fourth axis, wherein the third axis is generally parallel to the transverse plane and the fourth axis is generally parallel to the midsagittal plane.
An apparatus for supporting a person during tattooing, comprising:
- means for rotating, about a first axis parallel to both a frontal plane and a transverse plane of the apparatus, a back section having leg openings toward a position whereby the back section adjoins rearward extending leg supports of a seat section;
- and
- means for rotating, about a second axis parallel to both a midsagittal plane and the frontal plane of the apparatus, the seat section.
An apparatus for supporting a person during tattooing, comprising:
- means for rotating, about a first axis in a clockwise direction, a first leg section of an apparatus from a position generally parallel to a midsagittal plane to a position generally perpendicular to the midsagittal plane;
- and
- means for rotating, about a second axis in a counterclockwise direction, a second leg section of the apparatus section from a position generally parallel to the midsagittal plane to the position generally perpendicular to the midsagittal plane.
An apparatus for supporting a person during tattooing, comprising:
- a frame;
- a first leg plate;
- a first axle pin rotatably coupling a proximal end of the first leg plate to the frame, wherein the first leg plate is operable to rotate about an axis generally parallel to both a midsagittal plane and a frontal plane;
- a first leg frame;
- a first hinge coupling a distal end of the first leg plate to the first leg frame;
- a second leg plate;
- a second axle pin rotatably coupling a proximal end of the second leg plate to the frame, wherein the second leg plate is operable to rotate about an axis generally parallel to both the midsagittal plane and the frontal plane;
- a second leg frame;
- and
- a second hinge coupling a distal end of the second leg plate to the second leg frame.
