Abstract
A container, utilized for the storage and transport of articles, includes a body comprised of one or more sidewalls drawn in a generally longitudinal fashion and two end pieces, disposed distally on either end of the container body. A plurality of ribs are disposed between the end pieces to facilitate inward compression of the container body. In his manner, the container volume can be permanently or temporarily altered to take up the tolerance between the volume of articles and the otherwise fixed volume of the package.
Claims20
A container, comprising:
- a body comprised of one or more sidewalls drawn in a generally longitudinal fashion;
- two end pieces, disposed distally on either end of the container body;
- and
- a plurality of ribs disposed between the end pieces to facilitate inward compression of the container body.
A method to transport articles, comprising:
- fabricating a container that includes a body disposed between two end pieces, wherein one or more ribs are disposed on the body to provide a structural crease;
- filling the container with one or more articles;
- and
- applying force to the container in one or more locations to create compressions proximate to the ribs to reduce the internal volume of the container.
A container to store articles, comprising:
- means for loading articles into the container, the container includes a body and two end pieces drawn from a sidewall;
- and
- means for applying force to the sidewall to create one or more compressions proximate to the one or more locations thereby reducing the internal volume of the container.
