Abstract
An architecture is presented that provides a lightweight durable cover for a motorcycle or other two-wheeled vehicle that protects the seat, sides, and fuel tank portions of the vehicle when not in use. Friction and/or hook and loop fasteners hold the form fitting cover in place on the motorcycle. The cover may be rolled or folded for convenient storage after removed from the motorcycle.
Claims20
A cover for a motorcycle comprising:
- a sheet element configured to cover a substantial portion of the motorcycle, the sheet element further comprising:
- an outside surface to cover motorcycle seat and at least a portion of a motorcycle frame;
- and
- a plurality of attachment elements for further securing the sheet element to a plurality of attachment points on the motorcycle.
A one piece protective cover for a motorcycle with a backrest comprising:
- a generally form fitting sheet element configured to partially cover a fuel tank, a seat, and a plurality of adjacent frame elements, the form fitting sheet element further comprising:
- a weather resistant outside surface capable of covering the seat and at least one of the plurality of adjacent frame elements;
- a front end and a back end wherein said back end is wider than said front end;
- an opening transecting the weather resistant outside surface for receipt of said backrest;
- and
- an edge comprised of a closed-loop seam.
A protective cover for partially covering a vehicle comprising:
- a removable integrated sheet element configured to partially cover a fuel tank, a seat, and a plurality of adjacent frame elements, the sheet element further comprising:
- a weather resistant outside surface e capable of covering the seat and at least one of said plurality of adjacent frame elements;
- a front end and a back end, wherein said back end is wider than said front end;
- an opening transecting the weather resistant outside surface for receipt of said backrest;
- and
- an edge further comprising a closed-loop seam;
- wherein the sheet element further comprises a plurality of flexible attachment elements for engaging a similar number of attachment points along the vehicle for further securing said protective cover to said vehicle;
- and
- wherein the protective cover is foldable or rollable.
The protective cover for the vehicle of claim 716, wherein the hook and loop fasteners are Velcro®.
