Abstract
A shallow water anchor is provided. The shallow water anchor comprises a first anchor extension and a second anchor extension axially received by a housing. The first anchor extension is axially received by the second anchor extension such that the first and second anchor extensions are sequentially deployable from the housing using an actuation arrangement. The actuation arrangement is controlled by a control interface that is operable to detect when the shallow water anchor has reached a fully extended state and fully retracted state. The shallow water anchor further includes a biasing compensator that compensates for fluctuations in the overall depth of water the anchor is deployed in due to waves or other anomalies.
Claims24
A shallow water anchor for a watercraft, comprising:
- a first anchor;
- a mount operably mounting the first anchor to the watercraft, the first anchor movable relative to the mount from a retracted position to an extended position, and from an extended position to a retracted position;
- a remote control including a user interface and a transmitter arrangement for communicating with the first anchor;
- and
- wherein actuation of at least one control of the user interface sends a control signal from the transmitter arrangement to the first anchor to transition the first anchor from at least one of the retracted position to the extended position and from the extended position to the retracted position.
A remote control for a shallow water anchor system, comprising:
- a user interface including at least one control;
- a controller in electronic communication with the user interface, the controller operable to associate a unique control signal with at least one shallow water anchor of the shallow water anchor system;
- and
- a transmitter in electronic communication with the controller, the transmitter configured to send the unique control signal to the at least one shallow water anchor upon actuation of the at least one control to govern a position of the at least one shallow water anchor.
A method for controlling a shallow water anchor system of a watercraft, the method comprising the steps of:
- actuating a control of a remote control of the shallow water anchor system;
- sending a control signal from the remote control upon said actuating;
- receiving the control signal at a receiver of at least one anchor of the shallow water anchor system;
- and
- changing a position of the at least one anchor upon receiving the control signal.
