Abstract
A method for improving pulp mill steam cycle efficiency includes the steps of providing at least one deaerator tank having a first pressure, and lowering the pressure of said deaerator tank to a second pressure. Feedwater is supplied to a pre-economizer, where it is heated. The water is then delivered to at least one feedwater heater, where it is heated. The water is then delivered to an economizer. By this method boiler steam rate is increased while boiler efficiency is maintained and turbine extraction for deaerator and feedwater heating is minimized.
Claims19
A system for improved pulp mill steam cycle operation, comprising:
- a deaerator tank adapted for receiving a supply of water, said deaerator tank operating at a pressure;
- a pre-economizer fluidically connected to said deaerator tank, said pre-economizer being located inside a boiler arrangement and being adapted to receive said supply of water from said deaerator tank, said pre-economizer also adapted for heating said supply of water;
- a feedwater heater fluidically connected to said pre-economizer and for receiving said supply of water from said pre-economizer and for heating said supply of water;
- and
- an economizer fluidically connected to said feedwater heater, said economizer adapted to receive said supply of water from said feedwater heater.
A method for improving pulp mill steam cycle efficiency, comprising:
- providing at least one deaerator tank having a first pressure;
- lowering the pressure of said deaerator tank to a second pressure;
- providing a supply of feedwater;
- delivering said supply of feedwater to a pre-economizer, said pre-economizer being located inside a boiler arrangement;
- heating said supply of water in said pre-economizer;
- delivering said supply of water away from said boiler arrangement to at least one feedwater heater, said feedwater heater being fluidically connected to said boiler arrangement;
- heating said supply of water by said at least one feedwater heater;
- and
- delivering said supply of water to an economizer located in said boiler;
- whereby boiler steam rate is increased while boiler efficiency is maintained and turbine extraction for deaerator and feedwater heating is minimized.
A method for improving pulp mill steam cycle efficiency, comprising:
- providing at least one deaerator tank having a first pressure;
- lowering the pressure of said deaerator tank to a second pressure;
- providing a supply of water;
- delivering said water to said deaerator;
- conveying said water from said deaerator to a pre-economizer by way of a pump mechanism;
- heating said water in a pre-economizer;
- delivering said water to said deaerator;
- heating said water with a feedwater heater;
- and
- delivering said water to an economizer.
A method for improving pulp mill steam cycle efficiency, comprising:
- providing a supply of water;
- delivering said supply of water to a heat exchanger;
- delivering said supply of water to a deaerator tank communicatively connected to said heat exchanger;
- conveying said supply of water back to said heat exchanger;
- conveyed said supply of water to a pre-economizer;
- heating said supply of water in said pre-economizer;
- delivering said supply of water to said deaerator;
- and
- delivering said supply of water to an economizer.
A method for improving pulp mill steam cycle efficiency, comprising:
- providing at least one deaerator tank;
- providing a supply of feedwater;
- delivering said supply of feedwater to a heat exchanger communicatively connected to said deaerator tank;
- conveying said supply of feedwater to a pre-economizer;
- said pre-economizer being located inside a boiler arrangement;
- heating said supply of feedwater in said pre-economizer;
- delivering said supply of water away from said boiler arrangement to at least one feedwater heater, said feedwater heater being fluidically connected to said boiler arrangement;
- heating said supply of feedwater by said at least one feedwater heater;
- and
- delivering said supply of feedwater to an economizer located in said boiler;
- whereby boiler steam rate is increased while boiler efficiency is maintained.
