Abstract
A system for introducing an inhibitor into a fluid to be treated, the system having at least one high shear mixing device comprising a rotor and a stator separated by a shear gap, wherein the at least one high shear mixing device is configured to subject a mixture of the inhibitor and the fluid to a shear rate of greater than about 20,000 s−1; and a pump configured to deliver at least one of the fluid, the inhibitor, and combinations thereof, to the high shear mixing device.
Claims20
A system for inhibiting a component in a fluid, the system comprising:
- at least one high shear mixing device configured with at least one generator comprising a rotor and a stator separated by a shear gap, wherein the shear gap is the minimum distance between the rotor and the stator, and wherein the high shear mixing device is capable of producing a tip speed of the rotor of greater than 22.9 m/s (4,500 ft/min);
- and
- a pump configured for delivering a mixture of a carrier and an inhibitor to the high shear mixing device.
A system for introducing an inhibitor into a fluid to be treated, the system comprising:
- at least one high shear mixing device comprising a rotor and a stator separated by a shear gap, wherein the at least one high shear mixing device is configured to subject a mixture of the inhibitor and the fluid to a shear rate of greater than about 20,000 s−1;
- and
- a pump configured to deliver at least one of the fluid, the inhibitor, and combinations thereof, to the high shear mixing device.
A system for inhibiting a component in a fluid, the system comprising:
- a high shear device configured with at least one generator comprising a rotor and a stator separated by a shear gap width, wherein the shear gap width is the minimum distance between the rotor and the stator, wherein the high shear mixing device is configured to produce a tip speed of the rotor of greater than 22 m/s, and wherein the fluid is subjected to a shear rate greater than 20,000 s−1 in the high shear device;
- a pump fluidly connected with the high shear device;
- and
- a vessel fluidly connected with the high shear device, wherein the vessel is configured to receive at least a portion of the fluid after the fluid is subjected to the shear rate.
