An insert seat for an indexable cutting insert having a guide surface that abuts an insert surface of the indexable cutting insert, wherein the guide surface includes a counter profile that engages relief-like profile of the insert surface.
A side milling cutter comprising an insert seat and indexable cutting inserts wherein tooth strips are oriented in the insert seats substantially at right angles to an axial direction of the insert seat.
