Abstract
In a device (V) for catching rainwater from a downpipe (F) comprising an opening (11), wherein the device (V) comprises a branch pipe (5) with a water-catching blade (12) at the end, a support member (1) traversed by the branch pipe (5) and a retaining means, and comprising a branch pipe (5) engaging into the opening (11), a catching blade (12) placed in the downpipe, and wherein the downpipe (F) can be fixed in the area of the support member (1) covering the opening (11) by means of the retaining means (H) at the downpipe (F), the retaining means (H) comprises at least one undercut engagement hook (17) that can be passed through the opening (11), and an engagement hook tensioning system (S) is functionally interconnected between the support member (1) and the engagement hook (17).
Claims18
Device for catching rainwater from a downpipe having a mounting and branching opening, wherein the device comprises:
- a branch pipe with a water-catching blade at the end, a support member traversed by the branch pipe and a retaining means, and which is fixed at the downpipe by means of the retaining means such that the branch pipe engages into the mounting and branching opening and the support member covers the downpipe in the area around the mounting and branching opening, wherein the retaining means comprises at least one undercut engagement hook disposed at a plug-in end of a sleeve accommodating the branch pipe, said engagement hook being adapted for being passed through the mounting and branching opening, that an engagement hook tensioning system is interconnected between the support member and the engagement hook, and that the tensioning system comprises either a spigot nut capable of being set onto the support member and engaging the sleeve via a bayonet or screw connection, or a tension spring arrangement supported at the sleeve opposing the support member and a spring abutment that is displaceable on the sleeve and can be set onto the support member.
A device insertable into an opening in a downpipe for catching and diverting rainwater comprising:
- a pot;
- a branch pipe attached to said pot;
- a catch blade attached to said branch pipe and adapted to fit within the opening in the downpipe;
- a sleeve coupling with said branch pipe;
- a plurality of undercut engagement hooks formed on said sleeve and extending from an edge thereof;
- tension means, coupled to said plurality of undercut engagement hooks, for providing a bias to said plurality of undercut engagement hooks capable of securely holding in position each of said plurality of undercut engagement hooks adjacent an inside edge of the opening formed in the downpipe;
- and
- a plate shaped support member having a pipe socket adapted to receive said sleeve placed between the downpipe and said pot,
- whereby the device is securely attached to the downpipe.
A device insertable into an opening in a downpipe for catching and diverting rainwater comprising:
- a pot;
- a branch pipe attached to said pot;
- a discharge piece attached to said pot;
- a filtering element placed within said pot;
- a lid adapted to fit on said pot;
- a rotation handle formed on said lid
- a metering skirt formed on said lid having a metering passage, whereby said metering skirt can be rotated within said pot so that the metering passage can be selectively aligned with either said branch pipe or discharge piece;
- a catch blade attached to said branch pipe and adapted to fit within the opening in the downpipe;
- a sleeve coupling with said branch pipe;
- a longitudinal slot formed in said sleeve;
- a plurality of undercut engagement hooks formed on said sleeve and extending from an edge thereof;
- tension means, coupled to said plurality of undercut engagement hooks, for providing a bias to said plurality of undercut engagement hooks capable of securely holding in position each of said plurality of undercut engagement hooks adjacent an inside edge of the opening formed in the downpipe;
- and
- a plate shaped support member having a pipe socket adapted to receive said sleeve placed between the downpipe and said pot, and the pipe socket having a plurality of longitudinal ribs each adapted to receive the longitudinal slot formed in said sleeve,
- whereby the device is securely attached to the downpipe and the rainwater can be metered.
