Abstract
A polyureasulfone polymer having a high cohesive energy density and tensile strength, and method of making.
Claims7
A polyureasulfone polymer comprising:
- paraphenylene-diisocyante (PDI) and diaminodiphenylsulfone (DADPS) linked via sulfone linkages to form a polymer.
A polyureasulfone polymer comprising the following structure:
- wherein the polymer has n polymer unit, wherein n has a value greater than 200.
A method of producing a polyureasulfone polymer, comprising the steps of:
- a) adding a paraphenylene-diisocyante (PDI) to a solvent to form Solution A;
- b) adding a diaminodiphenylsulfone (DADPS) to a solvent to form Solution B;
- c) combining Solution A and Solution B to form Solution C and mixing vigorously until a change in viscosity occurs in Solution C;
- d) adding Solution C to a vortex of anhydrous ethanol to form Solution D;
- and
- e) filtering Solution D to collect the polyureasulfone polymer.
