An in vitro method to differentiate SpA from other inflammatory rheumatic diseases such as RA or to differentiate SpA from undifferentiated arthritis, said method comprising determining the amount of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) present in a biological sample and correlating said determined amount to the presence or development of SpA.
A method of predicting the development of SpA or RA from undifferentiated arthritis comprising determining the amount of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) present in a biological sample and correlating said determined amount to the presence or development of SpA or RA.
