Abstract
A tablet comprising: (a) an active ingredient; and (b) at least one member of an effervescent couple, wherein said tablet dissolves in water in not more than three minutes and in the mouth in not more than thirty seconds, and wherein said tablet is capable of acting as an effervescent tablet, a rapid-dissolve tablet or a rapidly disintegrating swallow tablet.

A tablet comprising:
- (a) an active ingredient;
- and (b) an effervescent couple, wherein said tablet dissolves in water in not more than three minutes and in the mouth in not more than thirty seconds.
A tablet comprising (a) an active ingredient;
- and (b) one member of an effervescent couple, wherein said tablet dissolves in water in not more than three minutes and in the mouth in not more than thirty seconds and wherein said active ingredient is also the other member of said effervescent couple.
A tablet comprising:
- (a) aspirin;
- (b) at least one member selected from the group consisting of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, potassium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and mixtures thereof;
- and (c) a super-disintegrant, wherein said tablet dissolves in water in not more than three minutes and in the mouth in not more than thirty seconds, and wherein said tablet is capable of acting as an effervescent tablet, a rapid-dissolve tablet or a rapidly disintegrating swallow tablet.
