Abstract
Methods, compounds, compositions, kits and articles of manufacture comprising one or more gap junction modulating agents for treatment of wounds that do not heal at expected rates, including chronic wounds, delayed healing wounds, incompletely healing wounds, and dehiscent wounds in a subject in need thereof.

A method of treating a subject having a chronic wound comprising administration of a composition comprising an effective amount of a connexin 43 gap junction modulating agent to the wound.
A method of treating a subject having a wound that does not heal at the expected rate, which comprises administration of an effective amount of a connexin 43 gap junction modulating agent to the wound.
A method of treating a subject having a dehiscent wound comprising administration of a composition comprising an effective amount of a connexin 43 gap junction modulating agent to the wound.
