Abstract
The application manager 37 conducts “application signaling” when a first disc is replaced with a second disc. At this point, an application is continued if it is written in an application management table assigned to a Title played last on a first disc and also written in an application management table assigned to a Title to be played first on a second disc. On the other hand, an application is ended is it is written in the application management table assigned to the Title played last on the first disc but not written in the application management table assigned to the Title to be played first on the second disc.
Claims9
A readout apparatus comprising:
- a selection unit operable to select one content from a plurality of contents recorded on a disc;
- and
- an application management unit operable to execute one or more applications based on an application management table corresponding to the selected content, wherein
- each application is a disc-unboundary application or a title-boundary application, and
- when a 1st disc is exchanged for a 2nd disc, the application management unit
- (i) maintains execution of a disc-unboundary application shown both in an application management table corresponding to a content on the 1st disc and in an application management table corresponding to a content to be played first on the 2nd disc, and
- (ii) terminates execution of a title-boundary application upon termination of playback of a content on the 1st disc.
A recording method comprising the step of:
- recording a content and an application management table corresponding to the content on a disc, wherein
- each application managed by the application management table is a disc-unboundary application or a title-boundary application, and
- when a 1st disc is exchanged for a 2nd disc in a readout apparatus, the readout apparatus
- (i) maintains execution for a disc-unboundary application shown both in an application management table corresponding to a content on the 1st disc and in an application management table corresponding to a content to be played first on the 2nd disc, and
- (ii) terminates execution for a title-boundary application upon termination of playback of a content on the 1st disc.
A readout method comprising the steps of:
- (a) selecting one content from a plurality of contents recorded on a disc;
- and
- (b) executing one or more applications based on an application management table corresponding to the selected content, wherein
- each application is a disc-unboundary application or a title-boundary application, and
- when a 1st disc is exchanged for a 2nd disc, the step (b)
- (i) maintains execution of a disc-unboundary application shown both in an application management table corresponding to a content on the 1st disc and in an application management table corresponding to a content to be played first on the 2nd disc, and
- (ii) terminates execution of a title-boundary application upon termination of playback of a content on the 1st disc.
